BeaconHouse Events work with Opencast Software to deliver their internal staff engagement events throughout the year, March 2022 brought with it an exciting milestone for Opencast – their tenth anniversary! To mark the occasion we created an event in their HQ hometown of Newcastle upon Tyne and transformed Brinkburn Brewery in Byker to be a transitional event space that would perform well for formal presentations followed by less formal celebrations to be enjoyed by staff. The celebration boasted all the perks worthy of such a celebration; street food, yurts, delicious cakes, balloons, impressive tech, branded merch, company brand beer, lights, cameras, action and plenty of drinks!
It’s always fantastic working with the team at Opencast from the moment they give us a brief we let our imaginations run wild to meet and exceed expectations. Seeing the company grow at such a rapid rate encourages us to deliver bigger and better events for them with every new addition to their calendar, becoming an integral part of their team in knowing and sharing their aims to develop an award winning culture and create experiences that their team relish.
A few words from attendees:
“The event was incredible! The venue was fitting the food and service at the bar was great, but I particularly enjoyed seeing from all the different breakout groups, hearing about what the departments are doing to support and grow the business.”
“Well done to the team that organised the conference, a great event.”
“Fantastic event in a great location. Great to meet more of the team. Huge thank you to the organisers!”
“Smashed it – such a great evening! :)”
We worked with Opencast to curate online themed gift boxes including festival swag, food and refreshments for 100+ of the team, delivered on the day of the online conference and festival.
The online festival featured live host, and a quiz and later some themed ‘tent’ breakout rooms. Members of the team were involved in filming in advance, so entertaining clips could be premiered at the event. The breakout rooms featured a live band, a comedian and rave room! The quiz was enhanced by using the live band to partake in the music round.
“the boxes are quality by the way – the kids are circling around some of the gifts like vultures….”

We worked with client Blu Sky to celebrate 10 years of success. Friends and clients of Blu Sky were invited to Tyne Bank Brewery for a party to honour the past decade. Branded #BeBlu beer, gifts, team members immortalised in cake form, the perfect illuminated balloon selfie backdrop, and live acoustic music set the scene. Belly of the Beast provided three themed stations, ‘Little Louisiana’, ‘Little Italy’ and ‘Little Lebanon’ to keep everyone well fed with the freshest local produce.
“Beaconhouse Events supported us in hosting a 10 year anniversary/birthday party for Blu Sky. We knew we needed some experts to step in and show us the ropes. Cat, Bex and the team were amazing throughout, right from concept, to viewing and picking our venue, to invitations and managing the guest list, and setting up on the evening. Nothing was impossible, and we wove some new ideas into the event right up until a week beforehand. We’ll definitely be using Beaconhouse Events in the future, and look forward to it!”

We were delighted to work with Akzo Nobel’s team coordinating a high profile launch for their Lab Opening. Organising audio visual solutions, bespoke delegate badges and working to deliver the event onsite. Our trusted supplier Belly of the Beast ensured the catering was local, fresh and delicious, the perfect fit for this special occasion.
“Thanks to BeaconHouse for all your hard work in helping put this together. We couldn’t have done it without you!”

We were tasked with creating an invitation only event for ambassadors of Dance City, hosted on their theatre stage! The event showcased Dance City’s achievements over the last 10 years and shared the vision for the next 10 years. 40 guests were treated to some exclusive and intimate performances from Afromix, the Degree Students and Adam Park. Beautiful canapes and drinks opened the event, with sharing brownie, fruit platters and cheeseboards to end.
