NBS: The Construction Leaders’ Summit – Building for the Future

This was the third instalment of a series of showcase events for NBS. A two day virtual conference with 26 speakers and over 2,000 people registered from nearly 50 countries.

Working with their internal events team, BeaconHouse Events helped with the setup, management and speaker and staff training of the online platform. We also managed speaker and delegate communications and sourced external suppliers for the event.

ISENC 2020

We were tasked with coming up with a virtual solution and implementing the transition of the annual International Sports + Exercise Nutrition Conference into an engaging 3 day virtual event. With 44 speakers, 17 poster presenters and 9 exhibitors.

We were involved in the setup, technical support and training on the online platform before and during the event. Alongside this we were involved with speaker and exhibitor management as well as assisting with delegate communications.

The event was considered a huge success with 600 registrations with delegates and speakers from over 50 different countries in attendance.

Thank you so much for all your hard work with this event, it is very much appreciated and I think from the feedback it has been very successful.
Angela Roberts, ISENC

Well done to all at BeaconHouse. Thanks for your very professional approach.
Looking forward to the debrief and suggestions for next year.

21st Annual Employment Law Conference

We worked with Weightman Associates to move their Annual Employment Law Conference from a real life event to an engaging virtual event, without losing any of the networking and exhibitor engagement associated with the conference. The event was a one day conference with three streams, facilitated networking and exhibition. As well as managing the online platform backstage and front of house, we also looked after the speaker, exhibitor and delegate communications, and branding of the online content and materials.

“The team at BeaconHouse Events used their experience and expertise to ensure a successful transition for our Annual Employment Law Conference onto a virtual platform.  They developed an effective marketing and communications for our clients on the lead up to the event.  On the day they looked after 10 guest speakers, 12 exhibitors and over 130 delegates on the day to ensure the event ran smoothly.   They look after the all of the details so nothing gets missed.   Would highly recommend using BeaconHouse events if you are planning to run a virtual conference or event,  you will be in the safe hands of experts.”   John C Grant, CEO, Weightman Associates Ltd

Build IT Right 2020

After working on the inaugural conference in 2019, BeaconHouse Events were asked once again to produce the Build IT Right Conference for 2020, initially due to be held in March, the event pivoted to online and was delivered to over 200 delegates virtually via an online platform. BeaconHouse handled the transition of speakers, sponsors and ticketholders to the new virtual format.  The one day event, had a packed schedule with three keynote speeches from Sam Newman, Dr. Anne-Marie Imafidon and Liz Keogh, alongside 23 speakers across four parallel tracks, plus a panel session and lightning talks which attendees can access for replay for 12months post-event.
“Great lineup, good networking”

NBS: The Construction Leaders’ Summit

The two day Construction Leaders’ Summit  attracted over 2,000 registrations from leaders from the construction industry.

BeaconHouse Events helped NBS structure an online event that would engage their attendees and demonstrate product improvement and digitisation –  creating a platform for change, debate, discussion and networking.  With 21 speakers, keynote speakers included Dame Judith Hackitt (Government Advisor, Building Safety Regulations), and MP Nadhim Zahawi.

NBS led on marketing the event to their extensive network, BeaconHouse, working closely with the internal events team did the rest. Support included online platform training and management, speaker and programme curation, and supplier management. The event was a huge success with 73 countries participating and 26.5m impressions gained online.

#CYBERFEST 2020

A series of online events focusing on the challenges and opportunities of the cyber security sector. The month long tech festival was pivoted to online in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, but also allowed the event to grow accommodating more guests than in previous years. BeaconHouse Events delivered this event on behalf of Dynamo North East. Services provided include event marketing, delegate management, sponsorship generation and relationship management, budget management and cost control together with event branding and onsite management.

Virtual Opencast Company Conference

We worked with our client Opencast Software to create an online alternative to their quarterly meetings. Support included platform training, video production, branding and supplier management.

Dynamo 20: Virtual

We work with Dynamo North East to set up, launch, manage and deliver the annual conference, which is traditionally hosted at a regional University. For the 2020 conference there was the requirement to take the event online, so we worked on finding the platform that suited the content and hugely important networking element. Hopin suited our requirements and was a great UX for our attendees to maximise engagement. Keynotes were delivered from Nic Palmarini, National Innovation Centre for Ageing and in a first for the conference, a US based keynote Aaron Harris from Sage. Speakers and attendees were able to connect in the comments and during breaks take time to view the Expo booths, and speed network. The day was produced with a mix of live and pre-recorded content to suit our audiences. With varying Wi-Fi speeds and full diaries, we made sure the recorded content available shortly after the conference for delegates and members to experience all of the content from the day. We had a record number of attendees during the day reaching 400, with more tuning in for the replay content.

The speakers and panels have been excellent. The keynotes inspirational. And, behind the scenes, we had an army of five full-time Hopin experts who briefed, rehearsed, pre-recorded, topped and tailed…this is where the magic has come in. What a first online [for Dynamo]…

Charlie Hoult, Dynamo North East

ATOMICON: Online Conference

We worked with Andrew & Pete to quickly adapt the one day conference, destined to fill Sage Gateshead, to an online spectacular, with a month of online fringe events running up to the main conference date. Managing speakers, sponsors and delegates we were able to ensure the community were delivered all the content, all the networking opportunities, and all the fun of a traditional IRL conference. A private facebook group suited the membership organisation well, and meant we had a whole range of flexibility on the streaming capacity and attendees were able to engage with the content, speakers and each other. In particular ‘Table Discussions’ allowed attendees to informally network with those with similar interests.  Keynotes were delivered from Andrew and Pete, Mari Smith and Drew Davis and averaged 1.1k comments from attendees each. 785 international delegates meant the day ran from 10am – 7pm to suit all time-zones and there was a wealth of content (37 Fringe Sessions, 3 Keynotes and 18 Speaker Sessions!) that attendees could re-watch at a later date.

These guys rock. I’ve lost of the count of the amount of times I’ve asked Sophie something, and she’s already pre-thought and sorted it. Our sanity levels have been kept at a manageable (lol) level because we know these guys have the operations under control.

Andrew Pickering, Andrew & Pete

Conference: The Future of Construction Product Marketing

‘The Future of Construction Product Marketing’ forum attracted almost 200 leaders from the construction industry to the IET in Birmingham in February 2020 to an exclusive invitation only event.

BeaconHouse Events helped NBS structure a programme that would engage their attendees and demonstrate product improvement and digitisation –  creating a platform for change, debate, discussion and networking. Keynote speakers included Dame Judith Hackitt (Government Advisor, Building Safety Regulations), Michael Saunders (Bank of England) and Jonathan MacDonald.

This wasn’t the first event that NBS had hosted an event, but it was the first time they had brought in an external event management company to support the delivery. NBS led on marketing the event to their extensive network, BeaconHouse, working closely with the internal events team did the rest. Support included venue liaison, audio visual management, speaker and programme curation, branding and supplier management. The event was a huge success far exceeding expectations in regards to number of attendees and the feedback was extremely positive particularly surrounding learning opportunities, networking and quality of keynote speakers.

BIM Show Live & BIM Awards 2020

After BIM Show Live’s continued success in the North East from 2017, BeaconHouse Events were asked again to manage and deliver the event. BIM Show Live is one of the most trusted information-sharing platforms for Building Information Modelling (BIM).  The event was a hugely popular, with almost 400 national and international delegates and a popular BIM Inspiration Day held for classes from across the North East. The event featured keynotes, panels and interactive seminar sessions and a bustling Exhibition Hall to keep delegates engaged across two days. Including an awards ceremony with ‘geordie’ vegan sausage rolls, this was the BIM event not to miss. The conference theme was ‘BIM for Good’ and we took on the challenge and worked with the venue and suppliers on eco-friendly options. Meetings where possible were conducted online, vegetarian and vegan food sourced locally, and no delegate programmes were printed. Delegates and speakers were asked to bring their own re-usable cups and bottles for their caffeine and hydration hits.

“The BeaconHouse Events team can literally take any brief, and make the magic happen! I trust these girls with all my BIM Show Live events now for the international digital construction crowd.”
Rob Charlton, Space Group

BeaconHouse will be working on the series of Opencast Company Conferences moving forward.
