Newcastle Carers Afternoon Tea

As part of their Carers Week activities, Newcastle Carers asked us to support on delivery of their Afternoon Tea event, to highlight caring and celebrate the contribution made by unpaid carers in our local community.

We sourced a venue, fit for a celebration – an indulgent trip to Fenwick and Arthurs Restaurant and Music Club. Alongside speeches we booked a musical performer, photographer and sourced goodie bags for all the deserving carers before managing the event on the day to ensure the event ran smoothly. It was a pleasure to work onsite with the Newcastle Carers team and see the Newcastle carers recognised for their contribution.

Dynamo Dinner 2023

Now in its 10th year, the Dynamo Dinner has gotten bigger and better. With over 120 guests in attendance, this year’s event was a true celebration of the North East’s thriving tech sector.

The dinner took place at Wylam Brewery, a stunning venue that perfectly complemented the evenings festivities. Guests were treated to a three-course meal accompanied by a selection of wines and locally brewed beers. One of the highlights of the evening was the keynote speech by Simon Harwood, UK Capability and Innovation Director for Leonardo. Simon shared his insights and experiences on the latest trends and challenges facing the tech industry.

Throughout the night, there were plenty of opportunities for guests to network and connect with other professionals in the industry; for people to share ideas, collaborate, and build new relationships.

Overall, the Dynamo Dinner was a huge success and a testament to the strength and vibrancy of the tech community in the North East. We look forward to many more years of bringing together the brightest minds and most innovative thinkers in the industry.

Such a buzzing atmosphere as the North East tech community came together to collaborate and celebrate the amazing work being done.

Dynamites Awards 2022

#Dynamites22 was an extraordinary celebration of the North East’s IT and technology industry, drawing an awe-inspiring crowd of over 520 guests. The Great Hall at Newcastle Civic Centre was the perfect setting for this grand occasion, with BeaconHouse Events at the helm, proudly presenting this annual event on behalf of Dynamo North East since 2014. From sponsorship generation to the judging process and the actual awards ceremony itself, every aspect was expertly managed and executed, making #Dynamites22 a night to remember!

I know I said it last night, but just to reiterate, I thought yesterday was brilliant and it was amazing just to watch you and the wider Beacon House work and not have to worry about a thing!

David Dunn | Sunderland Software City and CEO, Dynamo North East

It was a pleasure to participate and to see how big the event is becoming. This clearly shows how much impact Dynamo has on the digital ecosystem – made possible by the great work of the BeaconHouse team. Well done for pulling off another great evening!

Bridgestone 2023

We worked with Beyond Curious and Bridgestone to bring to life a kick off meeting for over 100 of the commercial fleet team at their Leamington Spa HQ. Reinforcing the company values and reconnecting in the brand new office space were top of the agenda, alongside key updates on their team progress and annual goals. BeaconHouse supported with securing an unconventional keynote speaker – Paul Iske. Paul is ‘Chief Failure Officer’ of the Institute of Brilliant Failures, to compliment the team-building activities; competitive tower building and a drumming workshop led by a West End performer. BeaconHouse managed logistics including onsite management, venue transformation, badging, AV and catering.

You delivered a great event and supported us in making this moment a fantastic opportunity for our team to eventually come together and feel great about being part of Bridgestone. Well done to all – your dedication and passion makes the difference.
Andrea Manenti | VP Bridgestone North

You guys were the real stars of the show – thank you all for making this event such a success! Nothing but glowing reviews of the whole day.
Ashely Boyle | Human Resource Business Partner | Bridgestone

I would like to extend a huge thanks to you and your team for the great preparation work these last few weeks, and especially in delivering a fantastic Kick Off event. The immediate feedback received has been brilliant. We seem to have found the right balance of content, speakers and breakout sessions to keep the event at the right side of fun but still delivering important business messages which seemed to hit home. Paul Iske and the drumming group were spot on for making the event what it was, and having your production skills in the background meant we could concentrate on the day itself!
Andy Mathias | Head of Marketing | Bridgestone North

ISCB43

BeaconHouse Events worked closely with Newcastle University and the International Society for Clinical Biostatistics for more than two years to develop and deliver their 43rd international academic conference – ISCB43, hosted in Newcastle in August 2022. We managed the whole event from start to end and handled 535 delegate registrations from 37 countries, 359 abstract submissions and sponsors to bring everyone successfully together for the five day conference programme.

The conference was delivered as a hybrid event with 391 attendees in person and 137 joining online only. We used the Cvent platform to host virtual elements of the event including virtual socials and a historical tour of Newcastle. All content was live streamed and available on demand, delegates engaged simultaneously in sessions through the app, networked, attended online and offline social events and local excursions, and shared learning and experiences.

“We are very, very grateful for all your help. It was my impression that this was one of the slickest ISCBs I have ever been to – everything just seemed to work. That this was the case while delivering a hybrid version was something that I think astonished and impressed the delegates very much.”
John Matthews, ISCB43 Conference Treasurer, Newcastle University

“You were all so familiar with how the programme and use of site had developed so you were willing and able to be adaptable as the days went by. I really hope we can work with you in the future for other conferences and events.”
Dawn Teare, ISCB43 Conference Local Organising Committee Chair, Newcastle University

Shared Prosperity Fund

BeaconHouse Events were commissioned to plan and deliver a stakeholder consultation event at The Alnwick Garden for the North of Tyne Combined Authority. We worked closely with the client team, over a short lead time, to invite and manage registrations and communications to participants, liaise with the venue and support with the planning and format for the event.

“We’re delighted with how the event went, thank you to you and Lewis once again for all of your help, it certainly made it a much smoother process.”
Lisa Harwood, Senior Economic Development and Regeneration Officer, North of Tyne Combined Authority

Opencast: 10 Years

BeaconHouse Events work with Opencast Software to deliver their internal staff engagement events throughout the year, March 2022 brought with it an exciting milestone for Opencast – their tenth anniversary! To mark the occasion we created an event in their HQ hometown of Newcastle upon Tyne and transformed Brinkburn Brewery in Byker to be a transitional event space that would perform well for formal presentations followed by less formal celebrations to be enjoyed by staff. The celebration boasted all the perks worthy of such a celebration; street food, yurts, delicious cakes, balloons, impressive tech, branded merch, company brand beer, lights, cameras, action and plenty of drinks!

It’s always fantastic working with the team at Opencast from the moment they give us a brief we let our imaginations run wild to meet and exceed expectations. Seeing the company grow at such a rapid rate encourages us to deliver bigger and better events for them with every new addition to their calendar, becoming an integral part of their team in knowing and sharing their aims to develop an award winning culture and create experiences that their team relish.

A few words from attendees:

“The event was incredible! The venue was fitting the food and service at the bar was great, but I particularly enjoyed seeing from all the different breakout groups, hearing about what the departments are doing to support and grow the business.”

“Well done to the team that organised the conference, a great event.”

“Fantastic event in a great location. Great to meet more of the team. Huge thank you to the organisers!”

“Smashed it – such a great evening! :)”

After an online edition in 2020, the event came back with a bang featuring Dragon’s Den Star Deborah Meaden, Facebook guru Ann Handley, keynote extraordinaire Drew Davis, and TikTok star Kyne alongside a variety of other parallel sessions. Tees Valley Business Club Hybrid Event

We worked up a virtual solution and since April 2020 we have been delivering a range of services for the TVBC virtual event series, however with restrictions lifted we supported TVBC with a hybrid solution, working with AV Team to ensure a smooth delivery for both in person and virtual audiences, and similarly ensuring virtual speakers were broadcast live to all online participants and those within the venue.

Thank you for your positive engagement support and encouragement whilst moving TVBC online. You have been instrumental in the success of the events.
We thank you.
