NBS: The Construction Leaders’ Summit

The two day Construction Leaders’ Summit  attracted over 2,000 registrations from leaders from the construction industry.

BeaconHouse Events helped NBS structure an online event that would engage their attendees and demonstrate product improvement and digitisation –  creating a platform for change, debate, discussion and networking.  With 21 speakers, keynote speakers included Dame Judith Hackitt (Government Advisor, Building Safety Regulations), and MP Nadhim Zahawi.

NBS led on marketing the event to their extensive network, BeaconHouse, working closely with the internal events team did the rest. Support included online platform training and management, speaker and programme curation, and supplier management. The event was a huge success with 73 countries participating and 26.5m impressions gained online.

Bring It On TV: Online Resource

Annually the face to face Bring It On event welcomes more than 80 engineering businesses from all over the region to showcase real-life engineering to more than 2000 9-14 year olds, getting them actively involved in the activities and encouraging their curiosity and interest. Reacting the the global pandemic, and teachers desire to keep students engaged we curated a new online resource for students. Bring It On TV, is a series of short but informative videos aiming to Educate, Inspire and Inform young people across the North East about the engineering opportunities available to them in the future. We have  members of staff from GSK, Virgin Money, EDF, Siemens Gamesa, and Pearson Engineering, part of The Reece Group take to the small screen and give us an entertaining insight to their work. The series is hosted on Youtube and BeaconHouse manage the marketing and promotion activity to ensure high engagement for the series.

“Thank you so much for all your enthusiasm and commitment to the BIO brand we do really appreciate the effort that has gone into producing this. We are all so excited to start getting it out there.”

Dynamo 20: Virtual

We work with Dynamo North East to set up, launch, manage and deliver the annual conference, which is traditionally hosted at a regional University. For the 2020 conference there was the requirement to take the event online, so we worked on finding the platform that suited the content and hugely important networking element. Hopin suited our requirements and was a great UX for our attendees to maximise engagement. Keynotes were delivered from Nic Palmarini, National Innovation Centre for Ageing and in a first for the conference, a US based keynote Aaron Harris from Sage. Speakers and attendees were able to connect in the comments and during breaks take time to view the Expo booths, and speed network. The day was produced with a mix of live and pre-recorded content to suit our audiences. With varying Wi-Fi speeds and full diaries, we made sure the recorded content available shortly after the conference for delegates and members to experience all of the content from the day. We had a record number of attendees during the day reaching 400, with more tuning in for the replay content.

The speakers and panels have been excellent. The keynotes inspirational. And, behind the scenes, we had an army of five full-time Hopin experts who briefed, rehearsed, pre-recorded, topped and tailed…this is where the magic has come in. What a first online [for Dynamo]…

Charlie Hoult, Dynamo North East

Tees Valley Business Club Online Networking

Tees Valley Business Club (TVBC) is a vibrant, modern business club with 45 years’ experience of helping businesses grow. When the COVID-19 pandemic meant the club couldn’t hold their regular member events we were delighted to be asked to help TVBC deliver a virtual solution. Typically each event consists of topical guest speakers followed by networking, to offer consistency to the network we wanted to stick as closely to the tried and tested format as possible.

We worked up a virtual solution and since April 2020 we have been delivering a range of services for the TVBC virtual event series including; pre-event briefing meetings, set up, schedule and share the online link for the virtual event platform (password protected), prepare comprehensive speaker briefing notes and hosted technical rehearsals, online (onsite) administration and hosting with community managers to manage the online waiting room, management of breakout rooms (allocation of guests to rooms and technical assistance, schedule management, audio and visual control and to ‘spot light’ key content and enhance user-experience and keep track of chat function to offer real-time event support and assistance and record each event for legacy purposes. Post event services include, sharing images of the online events, a log of attended registered guests and preparation of transcripts of the chat function to record questions asked and answered.

Thank you for your positive engagement support and encouragement whilst moving TVBC online. You have been instrumental in the success of the events.
We thank you.
Jane Reynolds, Tees Valley Business Club

ATOMICON: Online Conference

We worked with Andrew & Pete to quickly adapt the one day conference, destined to fill Sage Gateshead, to an online spectacular, with a month of online fringe events running up to the main conference date. Managing speakers, sponsors and delegates we were able to ensure the community were delivered all the content, all the networking opportunities, and all the fun of a traditional IRL conference. A private facebook group suited the membership organisation well, and meant we had a whole range of flexibility on the streaming capacity and attendees were able to engage with the content, speakers and each other. In particular ‘Table Discussions’ allowed attendees to informally network with those with similar interests.  Keynotes were delivered from Andrew and Pete, Mari Smith and Drew Davis and averaged 1.1k comments from attendees each. 785 international delegates meant the day ran from 10am – 7pm to suit all time-zones and there was a wealth of content (37 Fringe Sessions, 3 Keynotes and 18 Speaker Sessions!) that attendees could re-watch at a later date.

These guys rock. I’ve lost of the count of the amount of times I’ve asked Sophie something, and she’s already pre-thought and sorted it. Our sanity levels have been kept at a manageable (lol) level because we know these guys have the operations under control.

Andrew Pickering, Andrew & Pete

The multimedia exhibition comprises photographic portraits, short film, JOYful artifacts and photographic collages opened in March 2020 with an event to celebrate International Womens Day.
